Refurbish Briggs and Stratton Bowl Type Carburetor

Here we show you how to clean and recondition a bowl type carburetor on a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower.


    • Socket Wrench – 13mm Socket
    • Carburetor Cleaner
    • Needle Nose Pliers

Step 1

Remove your carburetor from your lawn mower and clean its outside with wd-40 or carburetor cleaner, an air compressor is useful for this task and further cleaning along the way.

Step 2

Remove the Metal butterfly valve inside the carburetor and pull out the piece’s that are now free.

Step 3

Undo the 13mm Bolt on the underside of the carburetor and then remove the main jet, next remove the float and needle as shown in the video. once all these parts are removed soak them in carburetor cleaner.

Step 4

Using a air compressor or other means clean out the holes and filters throughout the carburetor, let the carburetor soak in cleaner before spraying for best results.
